Vice Versa originated from a novel of the same name written under the pen name JittiRain, giving the adaptation a pre-existing narrative foundation before it reached the screen. The television adaptation was helmed by director Nuttapong Mongkolsawas, known by his alias X, and produced under the banner of GMMTV, one of Thailand's most prominent entertainment companies. The project first caught public attention when its trailer was unveiled at the GMMTV2022: Borderless event on December 1, 2021, building anticipation months before the series officially premiered.
