The Thai television series *The Sixth Sense* (Thai: สื่อรักสัมผัสหัวใจ) was produced by Cholumpi Production and adapted from a book series of the same name. It ran for two seasons: the first aired from September 1 to October 14, 2012, and the second from September 29 to November 29, 2013. The story centers on five women—Yanin, Kanna, Sukontharot, Kornrampa, and Nedsithang—who share a birthday. On that day, each of them gains a distinct supernatural ability to interact with spirits.
The series is built from five books, each telling its own story, and all five narratives appear in the show. However, not every character from the books made it into the television adaptation. For instance, actors Jaron Sorat and Rattaphoom Tokongsup, who played the two main male leads in the books *Kab Dak Rak Luang* and *Ma Ya Roi Jai*, only show up briefly at the start of season 2.
The five protagonists each have a unique sixth sense. Yanin, the eldest, communicates with spirits by closing her eyes and meditating. She is friendly, dependable, and keeps a calm mind. Kanna, the second eldest, always wears headphones because she hears spirits’ voices. A childhood marked by bullying made her stubborn. Sukontharot, the third, is the most knowledgeable about spiritual matters, having learned from her uncle, a monk. She can smell spirits, so she covers her nose with a mask. Kornrampa, the fourth, grew up wealthy and confident. She wears gloves constantly because touching something with her bare hands lets her see its past. Nedsithang, the youngest, can see spirits and therefore always wears sunglasses. Her family, especially her older brother, coddles her, leaving her naive and eager to do things on her own.
Other key characters include Tinn, a poor Thai speaker who previously lived in Kanchanaburi province. He returns to Thailand to manage a resort inherited from his maternal grandfather, only to be troubled by a spirit. Phong-in, also called Joh, is the younger brother of Pim-on and wants to uncover the truth behind her mysterious death. He hires Kanna, whom he has known since childhood, but she mistakes him for one of her former bullies. Trirat, or Tri or Tide, comes from a Chinese real estate family that owns a problematic market.
